Product Details
Product DescriptionWith patented auto-switching technology that saves you money on electrical bills, the Smart Strip SCG3 Energy Saving Power Strip features seven outlets that work in sync to efficiently power your electrical devices. This unique energy-saving power strip automatically switches devices on and off and uses less than one watt of power when fully energized. And with premium EMF/RFI filtering and 1225-joule protection to defend devices against surges, this strip keeps your valuable electronic equipment fully protected.
You don't want your power strip to eat up power, but you also want assurance that your equipment is safe from harsh power surges. Ideal for computer systems and home entertainment centers, the Smart Strip SCG3 employs a proprietary auto-switching technology that automatically shuts down devices that are not in use, saving you money and reducing your overall energy usage. The Smart Strip has seven clearly marked outlets that you plug your computer or home entertainment center peripherals into. When you power down computer or stereo, the Smart Strip automatically shuts down the power to your computer's and entertainment's center peripherals. This unique feature not only saves you money and helps the environment, it also makes shutting down your systems fast and easy.
Unlike most power strips, the Smart Strip itself uses very little energy. It uses one watt of power when fully engaged and less than 1/4 of a watt when the automatically switched outlets are off. Advanced Surge Protection with Superior EMI/RFI Filter The possible hazards of power surges are further prevented with 1225-joule surge protection and 48,000 AMP protection, both of which employ a three-way design to give you the ultimate protection for your valuable equipment. Place for Convenience with Long Cord and 45-Degree Plug The Smart Strip SCG3 is backed by a full two-year warranty for defects and includes a lifetime $30,000 connected equipment warranty. I plugged them all in and it just worked. Reading other reviews, I thought I would have to fiddle around to get it to work the way I wanted, but luckily that was not the case. I would have like to purchase the black strip, but I guess that's more of a seller thing. Anyway, worked well right out of the box for me. Rated There has bee a recent trend in eliminating switched power outlets on most current stereo receivers, for reasons I don't understand. I have a CD player that has a push-button type power switch. I used to plug it into the switched receiver outlet so that it came on and off with my stereo receiver. Since most newer receivers don't have these outlets, I decided to use one of these to power my CD player on and off with my receiver as the triggering device. That works well and I'm happy with it. I was also hoping to use this power strip to turn my subwoofer on and off, rather than putting my subwoofer in the 'auto' mode, to save a little power. It worked ok and would power the sub on and off but I ended up not using it for the sub. There was a loud 'thump' from the subwoofer some of the time when the power strip turned on. This is common with amplifiers when the power comes on abruptly. So, I don't recommend using this to switch any kind of amplifier on/off as it could damage your speaker (subwoofer) long term. This is not really a defect in this power strip. The way to avoid this is use some power source that ramps up slower (like a power conditioner, but they can be costly). The default setting on the power strip worked with my device too. Rated The strip worked with two of my electrical set-ups and did not work with two others. It didn't like my laptop as the main device or my Energy Star TV. For the laptop, I did followed the adjustment instructions and it seemed to be working fine, but then just stopped working properly. I move the strip to a set-up with our flat screen TV and it worked fine. For the Energy Star TV, when I adjusted it so it would turn everything off, I couldn't turn my TV back on again. Only worth the money if you love hours trouble shooting. I'm going back to using a regular power strip and just turning it off myself when I'm not using it. Rated This product is great!! It is so easy to use...all I had to do was plug it in and it was ready to go. The only thing is the one that the TV, surround sound,& DVD player is plug into, when I turn the TV on,the satellite system takes awhile to restart, and I have to manually turn on the surround sound and DVD system. Its a small price to pay to save energy!Overall, I would highly recommend this product!! :) Rated This is smart surge protection is more wonderful then i thought. It is super simple to set up and use. This thing is amazing and make me feel better knowing certain thing are completely off and not still sucking up electricity. Similar Products |
