Product DescriptionPureSpectrum 20-Watt (75-Watt incandescent equivalent) dimmable Compact Fluorescent Lamp is an Energy Star approved, fully dimmable spiral bulb that is compatable with most brand name dimmers. Combines energy savings and longevity with superior dimming performance. Works in any dimming application where an incandescent bulb would be used. Provides instant illumination and brightness without flickering and features low level instant ignition and illumination. Dims equally well as a stand-alone bulb or in a series and provides more than 1,200 lumens.Product Features* Uses 75% less electricity than incandescent bulbs* Instant illumination and brightness * Watts: 20 (dims in linear regression from 100% to 20% of perceived light output) * Reduced energy usage during dimming * Rated for 6,000 hours and High Power Factor (>.09) Customer ReviewsRated I bought four of these bulbs because they had received excellent reviews; I installed them in four sconces along the walls of a renovated office/study along with 12 8-watt dimmable cold cathode floods in recessed ceiling fixtures. All the wiring is new as are the dimming switches. The cold cathode floods are slow to reach full brightness but dim well and silently. These bulbs light instantly, dim smoothly, but emit an unbearable buzz/hum. So for the purposes of having soft lighting in the sconces, they are useless. If you care about noise, please do not buy them. Rated These bulbs are great. They generate hardly any heat and are almost cool to the touch, hence I believe they must use much less energy. They last forever too. I bought 4 bulbs back in Dec and they are still going long and strong. One of the bulbs is our porch light and my wife loves to leave that light on 24/7, at full strength. That said, it has been burning all day and night for almost 9 months...I'm wondering if it will ever burn out. You get the picture, quality product and works as advertised. Rated I ordered these 'PureSpectrum 75' 20 watt CFLs for two torchiere lamps I have in my living room. The box states: "truly dimmable, 75 watt equivalent, 1200 lumens, 20 watts, soft white 2700K, and 6000 hour bulb life." These are the first CFLs that I have discovered that will dim without 'flickering out' at the low end of the dimmer range. The color is good, there is a very slight pink tinge. The only bad, is that this bulb has an overall length of about 5.5 inches, a standard bulb is only about 4.25 inches long. The width is about equal to a standard bulb. If you can live with the extra length, I would highly recommend this CFL. :) ken Rated I have four installed in a fan-light combo--the last of my household incandescents. Some reviews had me worried. 1)The lights dim quite well. They don't yellow as incandescent lights do. I observed no noise at low settings. 2)As expected, they use less than the full travel of my dimmer switch slider before they extinguish. 3)They do seem to be a little bit taller than standard CFL's--so they stick out of my lamp shades a little. That is a touch ugly looking in my application, but I hate getting poor energy efficiency on lighting, as well has having to use extra electricity on my AC to pump the wasted heat out of the house during the summer, even more. Rated I purchased 8 of these dimmable CFL bulbs for 2 ceiling fans in our living room on a dial dimmer switch in May 2010. Since there were 8 bulbs needed (4 per fan)in an area that we use a lot, it was a good opportunity to reduce our electrical costs - but ordinary CFL's buzzed and flickered and would not dim at all. After reading other reviews here I decided to give these a try. No noticable buzzing, but they do flicker some on lower settings. After 2 months 1 of the 8 the bulbs just stopped working - that is why I have to give these bulbs 4 stars. Despite the faulty bulb, I haven't been able to find anything comparable on the market that are this affordable. I emailed Pure Spectrum to report the faulty bulb and provided them with my order date and Amazon order number and they responded promptly back the next day apologizing for the faulty bulb and to inform me they were shipping out a replacement bulb. No hassle for me to mail back the bad bulb or anything. Fantastic customer service!! I would reorder from Pure Spectrum again since they stand behind their product warranty. Similar Products |
